*  Hi, and welcome to my first blog post on my new and improved site! I stumbled across a thirty day blog challenge and since I’ve been looking for a jump start on my blogging, here I am.  Day 1 prompt: Write some basic things about yourself.

This is easy enough.

Separation Point cover

I’m a writer. There’s one thing. A published one, at that. Since October of 2015 I’ve had a book out floating around the Internet. The title is Separation Point, check it out on Amazon or Barnes and Noble if you’re so inclined.

I’m also a cat lover. A photographer. A woodturner. A glass artist. A jewelry designer.

Basically, I could’ve said “I’m a creative” and been done with it, I suppose. But I’m working on being more powerful and specific with description. And with words. Precision is important.

I’ve been told I’m warm, funny, generous, and supportive. Whether these things are true or not really depends the time of day you catch me!

Why don’t you tell me some basic things about you in the comments!

Hi Jen, this is Tina Shingler, Noshua’s friend, and I believe she just sent you a copy of my book Barefoot in the Piazza. It’s not clear whether you are in the UK or the US but I’m delighted to get to know you and am looking forward to reading Separation Point. I suspect we work in very different genres, but that’s good, you learn more. Like your website too.

Hi Tina! Lovely to meet you! Noshua did send me a copy of Barefoot in the Piazza and I thought it was just excellent! My husband andI had the opportunity to be in Florence for a few hours a few years ago and the parts I saw were just gorgeous. Even the stones used in the streets were gorgeous – and your book reminded me of that.
You’re absolutely right, my book is hugely different from yours in so many ways, but one of the things I’ve learned since starting on this authoring journey is that reading widely is important for us to keep our own material fresh. 🙂 It’s like… friendly corporate espionage, LOL.
